Document automation is where systems use existing data to generate electronic documents relating to medical conditions and healthcare.
The practice uses document automation technologies to create documents such as referrals, which are sent to other healthcare providers. These documents contain only your relevant medical information.

All users of the medical software have their own unique user credentials and password and can only access information that is relevant to their role in the practice team.

Some of the doctors working from our rooms use an AI scribe tool to support GPs take notes during their consultations with you. The AI scribe uses an audio recording of your consultation to generate a clinical note for your health record. The AI scribes used in our practice include Medilit, Lyrebird Health, Heidi Health, MBSPro. Please confirm with your GP which platform they are using.

Our practice will only use data from our digital scribe service to provide healthcare to you. Each GP will seek your consent before using an AI scribe during your consultation, and this will be recorded in your notes. Please advise your GP at any time if you do not wish an AI scribe to be used.
Your personal information may be stored at our practice electronically and as paper records. We endeavour to be a paperless practice but encounter paper records, regularly in our processes. Our practice acknowledges that patients may request access to their medical records. We require you to put this request in writing via email, post or in person, and our practice will respond within a reasonable time (30 days). Requesting access to your records is free of charge. However, a fee may apply to cover the reasonable costs of retrieving and providing the information, such as Doctor and staff time and printing. The cost will vary depending on the resources required to fulfil the request, and you will be advised of any applicable fee before it is incurred.
Our practice will take reasonable steps to correct your personal information where the information is not accurate or up to date. From time to time, we will ask you to verify that your personal information held by our practice is correct and current. You may also request that we correct or update your information, and you should make such requests in writing to our Practice Manager at manager@kwmc.net.au.
