Dr Annie-Kate Vann (she/her) is excited to return to Kedron Wavell Medical Centre. She has moved back to Meanjin Brisbane from Toowoomba with her daughter and her husband, who is a specialist physician. She grew up in Meanjin Brisbane and studied medicine at the University of Queensland (MBBS), after also completing a Bachelor of Science there.
Annie-Kate lived in Toowoomba for her final two years of medical school and then spent her first few years as a doctor working at the Toowoomba Hospital. She has since worked at major centres including Princess Alexandra Hospital, Greenslopes Private Hospital and Townsville University Hospital.
Annie-Kate has worked in General Practice since 2020 and attained her FRACGP in December 2023. She is interested in children’s health, family planning including contraception, pre-conception counselling/pregnancy planning and antenatal care, and providing gender-affirming healthcare and LGBTQI+ inclusive care. Annie-Kate can provide ongoing prescribing for those who have already commenced gender-affirming hormone therapy but is not initiating treatment currently. She is trained in Implanon insertion and IUD insertion. Annie-Kate works part-time and is thrilled to join the team at KWMC again. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends over delicious meals, drinking tea and travelling.
