He is passionate about all aspects of general practice and along the entire spectrum of life, from pregnancy to paediatrics, adulthood and elderly care. In addition to acute presentations, Dr Alex is a strong advocate towards preventative medicine. He has also for many years been involved in aged care and is particularly interested in coordinating the care of complex chronic diseases especially in the elderly. Dr Alex grew up in New Zealand before moving to Brisbane to study Medicine at the University of Queensland. After obtaining his degree (MBBS/BSc) in 2014, he worked at The Prince Charles Hospital and Redcliffe Hospital before deciding to follow his passion in primary care. Working in General Practice since 2018, he obtained his fellowship (FRACGP) in 2021 and continued to work in Brisbane until 2023 when he decided to travel and develop further experiences across Australia in a post pandemic landscape. Having since worked in clinics both metro and rural in VIC/NSW/TAS & central QLD, he returned to his home in Brisbane at the start of 2025 and is looking to establish long term relationships with patients old and new.
In his down time, Dr Alex enjoys road trips to visit small towns, hiking, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr Alex Wu operates his own medical services business at Kedron Wavell Medical Centre, and is able to consult in English and Mandarin.
